Non-Profit Status and Regulatory Oversight

Horizon University (HU) operates as a non-profit institution under an exemption verified by the California Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE). HU is governed, controlled, and maintained by a religious organization recognized as a non-profit religious corporation.

Immigration and Visa Approval

Horizon University is approved by the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to accept and enroll international students on F-1 visas. The DHS code for Horizon University is LOS214F51064000.

International students seeking to study at HU should apply for an F-1 visa through the U.S. Consulate or Embassy in their home country. Visa application procedures may vary, so students should consult the U.S. Consulate for the most current application instructions.

Accreditation

Horizon University is accredited by the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS). The university was awarded Accredited Status as a Category III institution by the TRACS Accreditation Commission on October 26, 2020. This accreditation is valid for up to five years. TRACS is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (ED), the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), and the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE).

Instructions for Filing a Complaint with TRACS:

  1. Inquiry and Documentation: Individuals with complaints or concerns should contact TRACS via their website to obtain a packet containing the necessary forms and instructions. This packet includes the Policies and Procedures for Complaints against Member Institutions, the TRACS Complaint Information Sheet, and the TRACS Complaint Processing Form.
  2. Submission Requirements: A formal complaint must be submitted in writing using the TRACS Complaint Processing Form. The form must be fully completed, signed, and include all required supporting documentation.
  3. Submission Address: Two hard copies of the completed TRACS Complaint Processing Form and all supporting documents should be mailed to:
