Program Description
The Bachelor of Theology (B.Th.) program presents opportunities to explore traditional Christian faith through academic and critical lenses. Students will be expected to critically and comprehensively analyze Christian scriptures and doctrines while placing teachings within a historical context. They will build foundational and advanced knowledge of theological principles.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completing the Bachelor of Theology (B.Th.) program, students will be able to:
- Critical Analysis of Christian Scriptures: Develop the ability to critically examine and interpret Christian scriptures, understanding their historical, cultural, and literary contexts.
- Theological Knowledge: Gain a comprehensive understanding of key theological principles, including the study of doctrines, ethical implications, and the evolution of Christian thought throughout history.
- Historical Contextualization: Place theological teachings within their historical contexts, recognizing how historical events and cultural shifts have shaped Christian beliefs and practices.
- Scholarly Research and Communication: Demonstrate the skills needed to conduct scholarly research in theology, including the use of appropriate methodologies, and effectively communicate findings through written and oral presentations.
- Integration of Faith and Reason: Articulate a balanced perspective that integrates faith and reason, using critical thinking to engage with theological concepts and contemporary issues.
- Ethical and Moral Reflection: Engage in ethical and moral reflection based on Christian principles, and apply these reflections to personal life, community involvement, and broader societal issues.
